#FutureCommuter

University Project

This collection was designed to a Fashion Futures brief which specified a collection designed considering the future consumer ,lifestyle and enviorment/climate as well as future practice. I designed the  #FutureCommuter spirit , which is informed by the current and future needs and functions the wearer requires to improve  their comfort and experience. The collection draws inspiration from classic tailoring whilst reflecting my own interpretation of the future vison of tailoring. The collection is incorporating modular design which can transform and transition to meet the wearers needs throughout the seasons with consideration of the future  climate change and the protection future consumers will require from clothing. Modular design gives the  outfit flexiability and therefore expand its suitability for a wider range of ocasions , I have considered this in order to reduce the consumers temptation to over consume at the current esculating rate. The outfit  will be a timeless , versatile wardrobe staple which will outlive the average 9 month lifespan of our current garments. The collection  considers each aspect of the consumers lifestyle in the future society and what they require from the clothing as well as how I can ensure it is produced as  sustainably / minimal enviromental impact as possible.  The final garments will be worn and purchased in both the digital and physical form to be worn in both enviroments as research predicts our lives to further blend seamlesly.
